SKU UV-T5120-B Categories , Tags , ,

Germicidal Ultraviolet (UV-C) T5 Bulb

Replace your UV Bulb on time to keep your UV Sterilizer working effectively. The Germicidal Ultraviolet (UV-C) T5 Bulb is designed to fit inside the quartz sleeve of a compatible UV Sterilizer housing, providing effective disinfection of bacteria, viruses, and microorganisms commonly found in borehole and municipal water supplies.

Operating at a wavelength of 254 nanometers (UV-C), the bulb disrupts the DNA of microorganisms, preventing them from reproducing and rendering them harmless. UV sterilization is a chemical-free, environmentally friendly method of water disinfection and is widely used in domestic and commercial water treatment systems.

Important Notes:

Water quality, flow rate, UV exposure time and correct system sizing play a critical role in the effectiveness of UV disinfection. Adequate pre-filtration is required to ensure proper UV performance and to prevent fouling of the quartz sleeve.

This product must be matched correctly by wattage, dimensions, and system compatibility. Installation and use of an incompatible component may result in reduced performance or system damage.

This bulb is a consumable replacement component and must be replaced at regular intervals to ensure continued water safety and system performance.

Recommended Maintenance Notes

The typical lifespan of a Germicidal Ultraviolet (UV-C) T5 Bulb for water sterilization is ± 9,000 hours, which is roughly 9 to12 months of continuous use. After this period, even though the bulb may still be lit, its effectiveness in emitting the required UV-C light diminishes significantly, which is why it is recommended to replace the bulb annually to maintain optimal disinfection performance.

Keep the Quartz Sleeve clean and use adequate pre-filtration for best UV performance.

Handle Carefully:

  • Do not touch the glass with bare hands; use gloves, tissue or clean, soft cloth.
  • Never look directly at an operating UV Bulb.
  • Installation should be performed with the power switched off.
